JF writes: “Just heard that sad news Malcolm McLaren passed away. Never met the man, but a friend of mine traveling through France just a few years back made his acquaintance. He found McLaren fascinating, outwardly focused and far beyond his rock doc “I made punk rock!” sound-bite that he is always attached related to his management of the Sex Pistols. (Usually the clip is cross cut with Johnny Rotten’s “No, I made punk rock!”)
Personally, I found all the OTHER projects he was aligned with just as fascinating as his celebrated Sex Pistols moment; Vivienne Westwood and Sex, Bow Wow Wow and most especially his crazy self-credited projects. Duck Rock and Fans were projects well ahead of the popular culture and, well, albums still worthy of a spin.”
Come see They Might Be Giants swear up a storm.
