TMBG announce New York City “Rent Party” stand

Yes, on the last Saturday of the month EVERY month TMBG will be performing at (le) Poisson Rouge right in New York City. Each show will be a special set, radically different from month to month. Along with their killer band, September’s show will include TMBGs world class horn section of Dan Levine (trombone) Stan “The Optimist” Harrison (sax) and Kurt Ramm (trumpet).

These shows are also a bit of a coming home for the band. TMBGs history with the venue (formerly the Village Gate) goes way back to a series of career changing shows in the late 80s. As the band was emerging from the performance art scene of the East Village, the Village Gate–best know for it’s prestigious jazz bookings–was one of the first “legit” venues to showcase the band.
